EFUS funds 2011 in France for crime prevention

The European Forum for Urban Security has announced a large fund of the french interministerial fund for crime prevention in 2011. In total it comprises of 51 million euro. 30 million will be allocated to the financing of video-surveillance systems, and 21 million for crime prevention actions (of which at least 5 million will be allocated to local authorities).

Within the crime prevention actions that are eligible for funding, a ministerial bill prioritizes the social workers inside police office, the local councils for Rights and Duties of families and the prevention actions that made the object of the March 2007 Law on crime prevention.
The ministerial bill also provides for a reserve of 3 million euro which will be created to finance the victim aid bureau inside the judicial courts, and to fund crime prevention initiatives that bear a national aspect.
