From Victim Policy to Victim Oriented Policies: theory and practice for different victim groups
The Newport Centre for Criminal and Community Justice is holding its eighth one day conference in Apriil, topic is victim policy. First, victims were ignored by the criminal justice system. Then victim policies emerged across the industrial world. The theme of this conference is that we have moved beyond a victim policy to ‘victim oriented policies’: different victims have different experiences and policies should reflect the diversity of victims’ needs.
The call for papers is open until 31 January 2012
The organisers are looking for papers on victim issues from academics, policy makers and practitioners. The organisers will consider theoretical, policy and practice-based contributions around a wide range of victim issues that discuss the different needs of varying victim groups and individuals. It is the conference organising committee's intention to publish a selected group of papers as a special issue in a refereed journal.
More information on the conference will follow in February.
