‘E-Justice and Cross Border Resettlement'

In 2011 the 'Developing the Use of Technical Tools in Cross-Border Resettlement' (DUTT) project was awarded an Action Grant by the European Commission, DG Justice under the E-Justice Programme. Within the context of the EU Framework Decisions (FDs) 909 and 947, the aim of the DUTT project has been to study and evaluate the use of Video-Conferencing Technology (VCT) and Touch Screen Facilities (TSF) as a means of enhancing the cross-border resettlement of offenders between EU member states. In addition, the project has been looking at the processes of transfer and identifying the roles of key agencies and stakeholders, in order to enhance the practical implementation of the EU Framework Decisions.

On January 25th 2013, London Probation Trust (lead applicant) and CEP will be hosting the final conference for the DUTT project at the CISCO office in Amsterdam. This final event will showcase learning from the project and provide delegates with the opportunity to discuss some of the issues around the implementation of FDs 909 and 947, in terms of transfers and resettlement. This event is recommended for Policy and Project leads on FDs 909 and 947; experts in Foreign Nationals; Prison and Probation representatives and ICT managers.
